Ricki Harrison is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the CRPO (College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario). Ricki will be graduating with a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy degree from the University of Toronto. Alongside this, she has a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in Forensic Psychology from Ontario Tech University and a Post- Graduate Diploma in Addictions and Mental Health from Durham College.

Ricki has years of experience working in many different areas of mental health in the Durham Region. From working directly in the community, providing crisis interventions, assisted animal therapy, group therapy, and individual therapy, Ricki has expertise in assisting clients to manage and overcome mental health hardships.

Ricki offers psychotherapy services to teenagers and adults who are experiencing challenges relating to depression, anxiety, stress, self-esteem, life transitions and addictions. Ricki utilizes Cognitive-behavioural therapy paired with Strength-Based Therapy, while also pulling from modalities such as Emotion-Focused Therapy, Solution- Solution-focused therapy, and Dialectical-Behavioural therapy. Alongside this Ricki puts an emphasis on using a Person-centered integrative approach which allows her to adjust her psychotherapy services to best fit the client she is working with.

Ricki understands how challenging starting the therapy process is, and wants to take all steps necessary to ensure you feel comfortable and safe in the therapy space. Ricki emphasizes working collaboratively with open communication, understanding and compassion. She wants to listen to your experience, thoughts, and emotions surrounding the therapy process and therapy goals. Ricki will assist you in identifying and using your strengths and resilience to help you achieve your goals, challenge difficult thoughts and emotions, build self-compassion and foster personal growth in all areas of your life.
